'सब तीर्थ बार बार गंगासागर एक बार'- may we visit other holy places several times - but a single visit to Gangasagar is worth a lifetime. Keeping it in mind hundreds of thousands of Hindu pilgrims from all over the world, and from every state of India reaches the confluence (Sagar Sangam) of the river Ganges and Bay of Bengal on the auspicious event of Makar Sankranti (usually 14th Jan) every year.
